Short Ribs (crockpot)

6-8 short ribs
2-3 T. brown sugar
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 bottle of barbecue sauce
Recipe
Mix the sauce and sugar together. Dip the short ribs into the sauce and place them in the slow cooker. Sprinkle the onions around. Pour the remaining sauce over the ribs and cook on low about 8 hours.

Spicy BBQ Sauce
2 T. oil
1 onion chopped
1 T. minced garlic
14 oz. can crushed tomatoes
12 oz. beer
1/4 C. honey
1/4 C. worcestershire sauce
2 T. hot pepper sauce
bay leaf
1 t. crushed red pepper flakes
1 t. dried thyme
2 T. lemon juice
Heat oil in a large pan. Add onion and garlic and saute until garlic turns golden. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes.
Makes 3 1/2 cups.
