Seafood: Creamy Shrimp Scampi Soup

1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons minced garlic
14 ounces chicken broth
1 can undiluted cream of shrimp soup
OR cream of mushroom soup
2 cans tiny shrimp, drained (6 oz each)
1/3 cup half and half
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Recipe
In a medium saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add garlic; saute for 3 minutes longer. Add broth and soup, whisking until combined. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors.
