    Pie: Upside-Down Hamburger Pie

    List of Ingredients




    1 pound ground beef
    1 tablespoon oil
    3/4 cup onion chopped
    3/4 cup celery chopped
    1/4 cup green pepper chopped
    1 can tomato soup
    1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 dash pepper
    biscuit dough (recipe below)
    1 tablespoon parsley chopped

    Heat oven to 450. Brown meat in hot oil. Add onion, celery, and green pepper. Cook over medium heat until soft. Stir in soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture into a 8 inch pan at least 1-1/2 inches deep. Prepare biscuit dough, add parsley, mix well. Drop biscuit dough over hot meat.Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. Invert over serving platter.

    Biscuit Dough for Hamburger Pie

    2 cups flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    2 teaspoons sugar
    1/2 teaspoons salt
    2/3 teaspoons cream of tartar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup milk

    Sift together dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Add milk all at once, stir with a fork until dough follows fork around the bowl. Drops dough over meat mixture.
