Judy's 24 Hour Layer Salad*

I LOVE this recipe... is simple and elegant.. always good for a carry in meal. I usually make extra dressing for it and throw in extra cheese. Have also made it with variations on the ingredients with whatever I had on hand. (good with just about any chopped veggies you'd find at a salad bar)
List of Ingredients
4 cups torn lettuce leaves
1 cup shredded carrots
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 green onions, sliced
1 small pack frozen sweet peas
2 hard cooked eggs, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juiceRecipe
Place lettuce in bottom of bowl. Layer peas on top. then layer carrot. Arrange egg and bacon over veggies; top with 3/4 c. of cheese and half of the green onions. For dressing, combine mayo and lemon juice; spread over top of salad, sealing to edge of bowl. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and chill for 2-24 hours.
