    Pasta/Potato: Marinated Asian Noodle Salad

    List of Ingredients

    6 ounces uncooked spaghetti or linguine

    DRESSING:
    3 tablespoons soy sauce
    3 tablespoons rice vinegar
    1 tablespoon sesame oil
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1/2 teaspoon five spice powder
    1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    1 clove garlic, minced

    SALAD:
    1 cup shredded red cabbage
    1 cup coarse shredded carrots
    1 cup green bell pepper strips
    1/2 cup diagonally sliced green onions
    1 cup pea pods, cut diagonally in half, blanched
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, rinsed, drained
    2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

    Recipe

    Cook pasta to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; rinse with cold water. Drain well. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine dressing ingredients; mix well. Place cooked pasta in medium bowl. Pour half of the dressing mixture over pasta; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes to blend flavors. Just before serving, in large bowl, combine marinated pasta, salad ingredients and remaining dressing; toss to coat. Serves 4.
