    Mushroom: Continental Mushroom-Bacon Sandwiches

    The Complete International One-Dish Meal Cookbook

    List of Ingredients

    1 lb Fresh mushrooms, cleaned-and sliced
    1/4 c Butter or margarine
    2 tb Fresh lemon juice
    2 tb Shallots or scallions -minced
    3/4 ts Salt
    1/8 ts Pepper
    4 Slices white bread toasted
    2 c Sour cream
    1 t Dillweed
    8 Strips bacon fried crisp -and halved
    4 Slices tomato halved

    Recipe

    Saute mushrooms in heated butter and lemon juice in a large skillet 3 minutes. Add shallots or scallions; saute 1 minute. Mix in salt and pepper. Spoon over toast slices, placed on a broiler tray. Top with sour cream and dillweed, previously combined, and bacon strips. Place under a preheated broiler 1 or 2 minutes. Serve at once on individual plates. Garnish with tomato slices. Serves 4
