    Crockpot: Southern Barbecued Beef Sandwiches

    List of Ingredients

    3 pounds round roast, trimmed
    1 cup ketchup
    1 can beer -- (12 oz.)
    1 envelope onion soup mix -- (1.25 ounces)
    12 hamburger buns

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 250ºF. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together all sauce ingredients. Place roast in a roasting pan. Pour the sauce over the roast and cook for 4 to 4 1/2 hours. (Roast can also be cooked in a crockpot on low 8 to 10 hours.) Meat is done when it is so tender it can be pulled apart with a fork into shreds or pieces. Place shredded beef on buns and serve.
