2 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanillaRecipe
In a medium saucepan combine brown sugar and water. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm or cool. Cover and refrigerate remaining syrup for up to 1 week. Makes 1-2/3 cups.
