Basic Sour Cream Scones

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup sour creamRecipe
Sift the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt together. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the mixture. Cut in with pastry cutter until slightly mealy. Mix the beaten egg and the sour cream together. Add to flour/butter mixture and stir until well combined.
Place on a floured board, knead lightly 4 or 5 times, and roll out to about 1/4- to 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 2- or 3-inch squares. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees, or until lightly browned.
