1 cup rice
2 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, chopped finely
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 can beef consomme + water to make 2 cupsRecipe
Melt the butter in a saucepan and over low heat; saute the onions until they are almost to the caramel stage. Add the rice and brown until the rice is golden. Transfer all to a 2 quart ovenproof casserole dish and add the Worcestershire sauce, the consommÈ and water. Place, covered, in a 375ºF oven for 20 minutes, uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
