Spit and generously butter the hamburger buns. Sprinkle lightly with garlic salt and cayenne pepper. Preheat large skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Sprinkle top of buns with some parmesan cheese. Place buns buttered side down in skillet. Fry them until buttered side begins to brown and crisp. Turn buns over and let sit in pan for 30 seconds on unbuttered slice. Turn back over again and let sit until is desired doneness. Put onto plate, buttered side up. Lightly sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese (which will begin to melt from heat of bread) and serve.
Note; you can make this into a meal by spreading with spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce once cooked, and sprinkle on sliced or shredded cheese and pop in toaster oven for a few minutes.
