    Sandwich: Baby Hot Browns

    List of Ingredients

    1 chicken bouillon cube
    1/4 cup hot water
    3/4 cup half-and-half
    3 tablespoons butter or margarine
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
    18 thin slices French bread
    6 ounces cooked turkey thinly sliced
    1 onion thinly sliced
    5 strips bacon cooked and crumbled
    Chopped parsley

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small saucepan, dissolve bouillon cube in hot water and half-and-half.   In a medium saucepan, melt butter; add flour whisking until mixture is frothy.  Gradually whisk in bouillon mixture, whisking constantly, until sauce thickens and begins to bubble.  Add cheese and stir until smooth. 

    Place bread slices on an UNGREASED baking sheet; place turkey and onion on each slice.  Top with sauce and crumbled bacon. Bake for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle with parsley and serve piping hot. (18 servings)
