    Elk: Quick Elk Roast

    1 lb. elk roast 
    1 can cream of mushroom soup 
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix 
    1 cup red wine 
    tablespoon rosemary
    3 cloves chopped garlic
    cup each Fresh mushrooms and onions sliced. 
    Oil for browning 

    Recipe



    Sear roast in skillet.  Put in Crockpot on low. add cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix. Add 1 cup red wine. Cook in crockpot for six hours. Add mushrooms and onions. Cook one more hour.  This can be salty at times. To avoid that only add half of the onion soup mix, and add some water to dilute the salty taste.
