Sandwich: Cucumber & Dill Hearts

1/4 large cucumber peeled and cut into paper-thin slices
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons butter softened
4 thin slices white bread
1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
1/8 teaspoon black pepper Recipe
1. In a colander, toss together the cucumber, salt and vinegar. Let stand for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
2. Butter one side of each bread slice; arrange the cucumbers on 2 of the bread slices. Sprinkle with the chopped dill and pepper. Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered sides down, pressing lightly.
3. Using a 1 1/2-inch heart-shaped cutter, cut out 8 sandwiches.
