Sweets: Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

CAKE
2 3-oz packages of cream cheese softened
2 teaspoons powdered sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter softened
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 8-oz sour cream
TOPPING
1/2 cup walnuts finely chopped
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and lightly flour a bundt pan or tube pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until light and fluffy. Set aside.
In another medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl (using an electric mixer on medium or by hand), beat the sugar and butter until creamy.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
Alternate adding the flour mixture and the sour cream until the smooth.
Add half the batter to the pan.
Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top of the batter. Keep the cream cheese mixture a ½ inch from the edge of the pan.
Pour the remaining batter over the cream cheese.
Prepare the Topping:
In a small bowl, combine the walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon.
Sprinkle over the top of the batter.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
If serving warm, place serving platter on top of the cake, flip over and remove the pan. Serve.
If serving cool, flip cake over onto a wire rack.
