    1 1/2 cups + 1 tbl. flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon baking powder
    12 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp
    7 tablespoons sugar

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325ºF, and have ready 8" square baking pan. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Using electric mixer on medium high, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, 1 1/2 minutes. Add flour mixture on low speed and blend 10 seconds, scraping bowl. Beat on medium high until fluffy, 2 1/2 minutes. Pat dough evenly into pan and pierce surface all over with tines of a fork. Bake until crisp and golden, about 45 minutes. While still hot, cut into 4x1" bars with point of sharp thin knife. Allow to cool completely in the pan. Makes 16 bars.
