    Caramel: Streusel Caramel Bars

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    1 egg, beaten
    3/4 cup chopped nuts
    1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    3/4 cup cold butter
    24 caramels

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350ºF. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and egg; cut in 1/2 c. cold butter til crumbly. Stir in nuts. Reserving 2 cups of crumb mixture, press rest on bottom of greased 13x9 pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 c. butter. Pour over prepared crust. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes or til bubbly. Cool and then cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temp.
