Toffee Topped Cake Squares

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting (below)
1/3 cup English Toffee Baking Bits Recipe
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine condensed milk, flour, walnuts, cocoa powder, egg, and vanilla; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared baking pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Spread frosting over the top; sprinkle with toffee bits.
CHOCOLATE BUTTER CREAM FROSTING
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon maple extract
3 tablespoons milk
In a small bowl, beat butter until smooth. Beat in confectioners’ sugar, cocoa powder, maple extract, and milk until of spreading consistency.
