    Cynthia's Peanut Butter Brownies

    1 cup sifted flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1-16 ounce can chocolate syrup
    1 1/4 cups peanut butter
    2 squares semisweet chocolate

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13-by-9-by-2-inch baking pan. Sift together flour and salt. In large bowl, cream 1/2 stick butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour mixture and mix until combined. Add chocolate syrup and stir until no streaks remain.

    Pour into prepared pan and bake 25 to 35 minutes or until center springs back when touched. Cool completely in pan. While brownies cool, mix peanut butter with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Spread over brownies.

    Melt chocolate squares with remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in small bowl over hot, not boiling, water. Drizzle chocolate across peanut butter creating lines 1 inch apart. Draw toothpick across the lines to create decorative pattern. Refrigerate before cutting into bars. Makes 30 to 36 brownies.

    Note: This is a very moist and soft brownie.
