Apple: Apple Sour Cream Kuchen

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup coconut or oatmeal
2 1/2 cups sliced, pared baking apples
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup sour cream
1 egg
Recipe
Cut butter into cake mix until crumbly. Add coconut or oatmeal. Pat mixture lightly into ungreased 9x13 inch baking pan, building sides slightly. Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes. Arrange apple slices over warm crust. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Blend sour cream and egg together, and drizzle over apples. Bake for 25 minutes or until edges are light brown. Do not overbake. Serve warm or cold. Variation: substitute fresh peaches for apples, and use white cake mix.
