1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar on high until fluffy. Add eggs, one at time, beating well after each. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda; add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Pour into three greased and floured 8" cake pans. Bake at 375�F for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool cakes completely before icing.
