    Chocolate: Fudge Cake 2

    1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 cup water
    1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
    2 bars (2 oz. each) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Unsweetened Chocolate Baking
    Bars, broken into pieces
    2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 eggs
    3/4 cup milk
    Frosting of your choice

    Recipe

    In a small bowl, combine four, baking soda and salt. Combine water, 1/2 cup sugar and baking bars in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

    Beat remaining sugar, butter and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in chocolate mixture. Gradually add flour mixture alternately with milk. Pour into two greased and floured 9" round baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto wire racks to cool completely. Frost cake.
    Yield: 8-10 servings
