1 german chocolate cake mix
1 stick margarine
1/3 cup milk
14 ounces caramels
1 cup chopped pecans or peanuts
1 cup chocolate chips (6 oz)
Recipe
Mix cake mix as directed. Pour 1/2 of batter into a floured and greased, 9x13 pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 350ºF. Melt caramels with milk and margarine. Pour over baked cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over caramel. Dot remaining batter mixture onto cake. Bake for 20 minutes at 250ºF, then 10 minutes at 350ºF. (it may take a little longer).
