Whole Wheat Walnut Crumb Cake

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
CAKE:
2 cups wheat flour
1 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 egg
Glaze: 3/4 c. powder sugar+ 1-2 tbl water
Recipe
Grease and flour a 13x9 inch pan. Heat oven to 350�F. In small bowl, mix streusel ingredients till well blended and set aside. In large bowl, combine all cake ingredients, beating at low until moistened, then at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread half of batter into pan; sprinkle half of streusel mix evenly over batter. Carefully spread remaining batter over streusel. Sprinkle with remaining streusel mix. Bake at 350�F for 25-35 minutes or till toothpick comes out clean. In small bowl, combine powdered sugar with enough water for desired drizzling consistency; blend till smooth and drizzle over warm cake. Yield: 16 servings.
