2 cups sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup coarse chopped nuts
Recipe
In 2 quart glass measure (that has a handle) combine sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, butter and salt. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Stir well until sugar dissolves. Microwave on high for 6 minutes or just until mixture reaches 236ºF on candy thermometer. Let stand for 15 minutes (do not stir). Add vanilla and beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss, about 6 minutes. Stir in nuts and quickly pour into a buttered 8x4 inch loaf pan. Cool and cut into squares. Makes about 1 1/2 lb.
