    2 packages unflavored gelatin
    1 1/3 cups applesauce
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup nuts
    1 teaspoon orange juice
    1 dash orange rind Grated
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Soak gelatin in 1/2 cup applesauce for 10 minutes. Mix sugar in remaining applesauce; bring to boil. Combine gelatin and applesauce-sugar mixture. Cook slowly for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; add nuts, orange juice, grated rind and vanilla. Pour mixture into shallow pan dusted with powdered sugar. Allow to set; cut into squares. Dust candy with additional powdered sugar.

    Yield 1 pound.
