    BASE:
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1 egg
    2 ounces unsweeteneed chocolate, melted, cooled
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1 3/4 cups flour

    FILLING:
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut up
    1/3 cup milk
    1/4 cup butter
    3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease mini muffin cups or line with paper baking cups. In large bowl, creame 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter until light and fluffy. Blend in egg; beat well. Stir in 2 oz. chocolate, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; mix well. Blend in flour and mix well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; press ball into bottom and up sides of prepared muffin cups. Bake at 350ºF for 8-10 minutes. Cool 5 to 10 minutes; remove from pan with small spatula. In small saucepan over low heat, cook filling ingredients until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. Bring mixture to a boil; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat to cool slightly; spoon into cups. Makes 48 pieces.
