Caramels: Holiday Caramels

1/2 cup Butter
2 cups Sugar
3/4 cup Corn syrup, light
1 dash salt
2 cups Cream
1 t Vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups Nuts -- chopped
Recipe
Do not use margarine for this recipe. Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, salt and 1 cup cream in saucepan. Bring to a boiling point. Add remaining 1 cup cream SLOWLY; cook to hard-ball stage. Add vanilla and nuts; pour into buttered pan. Cool then turn out onto flat surface. Cut and wrap each piece individually for gifts.
