Never Fail Cream Candy

2/3 cup cream
2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons corn syrup
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup walnuts or pecansRecipe
Mix together cream, sugar, salt and syrup. Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Cover and cook 3 minutes. Remove cover; cook, stirring occasionally until soft ball forms in cold water, 236 to 238ºF. Remove from heat; add butter. Cool; beat until candy becomes dull. Add vanilla and nuts.
