Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

List of Ingredients
2 bags Ghiradelli brand double chocolate chips ; (made with dark chocolate)
1 bag Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips
4 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cup butter ; room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
Heat oven to 375°F. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixer bowl, cream butter with sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 dozen.
For chocolate chocolate chip cookies: melt 5 to 6 ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate and let cool. Beat into cookie dough mixture prior to stirring in the chocolate chips. (or use 1/4 c. of unsweetened cocoa powder instead of the baking chocolate) Bake for exactly 10 minutes.
Notes:
This recipe makes big batch - can halve if desired. (They freeze well, so we always make the large batch size).
Substitutions: If you can't get ahold of Ghiradelli chocolate chips, you can substitute your favorite brand of milk chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips.
