    2 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp
    3/4 cup light brown sugar
    1/4 cup dark brown sugar
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 large egg
    4 ounces Heath or Skor candy bars, chopped coarsely

    Preheat oven to 400ºF, and grease baking sheets lightly. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together, then set aside. Using electric mixer on medium speed, cream butter, the sugars, and vanilla together until light and fluffy, 2 minutes. Add the egg and beat on medium speed until blended, then mix in flour, blending well. Add candy and mix on low just enough to incorporate. Measure out generously rounded teaspoons of dough and roll into balls with your hands. Place the balls 2" apart on baking sheets and then press each cookie down as thin as possible with your hand (dip hand in flour for every other cookie). Bake cookies until they are golden with a deeper golden edge, 13-14 minutes. Cool on baking sheets. Can freeze up to 2 weeks. Makes 50 cookies.
