    1 cup sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 eggs
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    4 cups flour

    FROSTING:
    1/2 cup butter
    1/4 cup milk
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 cups powdered sugar

    Preheat oven to 400ºF. In a bowl combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine and vanilla. Add eggs. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream. Sift together salt, baking powder, and flour. Add sour cream mixture and flour mixture alternately to the sugar mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool cookies on wire rack. Frost with Caramel Cookie Frosting or the frosting of your choice.

    FROSTING:In a medium saucepan combine margarine, milk, and brown sugar. Bring mixture to boiling over low heat. Remove from the heat; stir in powdered sugar till smooth. Stir in additional milk, if needed, till of spreading consistency. Cool. Makes enough frosting for 24 cookies.
