Cocoa-Oatmeal Cookies

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine -- softened
1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon chocolate extract if desired
2 egg whites or 1/4 cup cholesterol-free egg product
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips*
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
*Substitute
1/2 cup carob chips.Recipe
Heat oven to 350ºF. Mix sugar, margarine, yogurt, water, vanilla, chocolate extract and egg whites in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched. Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
