Butter: Cream Cheese Butter Cookies

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter (no substitutes)
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
Recipe
Combine all ingredients except flour. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until light and fluffy. Add flour, beat until mixed. Divide dough into thirds. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate until firm, at least 2 hours. Heat oven to 375ºF. Allow dough to soften a little so that is easier to roll. Roll dough on floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cutters dipped in flour. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until edges are very lightly browned. Remove immediately to rack to cool.
