    COOKIE:
    2 cups + 6 tbl cake flour
    1/2 teaspoon + 1/8 tsp baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon + 1/8 tsp baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    9 tablespoons butter, room temp
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    3/4 teaspoon maple extract
    2 large eggs
    3/4 cup sour cream

    GLAZE:
    3 cups powdered sugar
    1/4 cup water
    3 tablespoons maple syrup
    1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
    1 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
    2 teaspoons maple extract

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400ºF and lightly grease pans with oil. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. On medium high, cream butter, sugars, vanilla and maple extract until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, blending well after each. Add one third of flour mixture, mixing well, then 1/2 of sour cream. Add another third of flour, then rest of sour cream, and finally remaining flour. Drop batter by heaping tablespoons 2" apart on cookie sheets. Bake until just golden and firm to touch, 11-12 minutes. Let sit for 2-3 minutes and then transfer to foil on counter.

    Once cookies have cooled, prepare the glaze: Place powdered sugar in medium size bowl. Place water, syrups and brown sugar in small saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and add maple extract. Immediately add hot mixture to powdered sugar and beat vigorously with whisk until velvety smooth. Dip rounded top of each cooled cookie into glaze. Allow cookies to sit until glaze hardens, 2-3 hours. Makes 24
