Southern Pecan Crescents

1 cup butter, room temperature
5 tablespoons sifted powdered sugar
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon water
1 cup chopped pecansRecipe
Preheat oven to 300ºF. Cream butter with the confectioners sugar. Add flour and chopped pecans. Mix in vanilla and water. Shape the dough by pinching off a small piece of dough and roll it between the palms of the hands. (the roll should be about 2 inches long and fairly thick.) Bend into a crescent shape and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 45-50 minutes. Remove. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. Makes small, dainty and gently crunchy crescents.
