List of Ingredients
1 1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Water or whipping cream (more if needed)
1/2 ts Salt
2 lb Confectioners sugar
2 ts Flavoring (orange, vanilla, almond, cream bouquet, rum or lemon)
1 t Butter flavoring Recipe
Beat shortening at high speed for 5 minutes. On low speed, add water or whipped cream and salt. Slowly add sugar and flavorings. Beat on high until light and fluffy. Adjust liquid or flavorings if necessary. Makes enough for one 9-inch, two-layer cake.
Note: This recipe may be cut in half for hand mixers or doubled for large mixers.
