    Apple: The Best Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients

    apple pie pastry for 2 crusts
    6 Granny Smith apples (peel, core, slice)
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1/3 cup light corn syrup
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
    3 tablespoons light corn syrup
    2 tablespoons flour
    2 tablespoons butter, softened

    Recipe

    Fill pastry lined pie pan with apples. A 10" cast iron chicken fryer makes a great crust. Combine next 6 ingredients and pour over apples. Cover with tp crust (a lattice works best) and bake at 425ºF for 30-45 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients and spread over crust. Return to oven for 10 minutes or until topping is bubbly.
