    Custard: Caramel Custard Cups

    List of Ingredients

    4 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 cup evaporated milk
    2/3 cup water
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    few grains salt

    Recipe

    Divide the sugar between 4 custard cups. Press sugar lightly on bottom. Mix in 1 qt bowl the remaining ingredients and pour over the brown sugar. Set cups in a shallow pan holding 1 inch of hot water. Bake in 350ºF oven 45 minutes or until knife inserted near edge of custard comes out clean. Cool, but do not chill. Loosen edges with knife. Unmold.
