    Bread Pudding: Chocolate & Walnut Bread Pudding

    List of Ingredients

    8 slices egg bread, crust removed, cubed
    1 cup half and half
    1/4 cup butter, room temperature
    1 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    3 tablespoons sifted cocoa
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 tablespoon rum
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla

    CREME VANILLA:
    1/2 cup cream, whipped
    1/2 cup softened vanilla ice cream
    1 teaspoon rum

    Recipe

    In a bowl, soak bread in cream. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter with sugar until blended. Beat in eggs and cocoa until nicely blended, about 1 minute. Beat in bread mixture, nuts and flavorings until blended. Pour batter into a buttered 2 quart souffle dish and bake in a 350ºF oven for 45 minutes, or until pudding is set. Spoon into dessert dishes and serve with a dollop of Creme Vanilla. Serves 6.

    For Creme Vanilla, combine all ingredients and stir until blended. Yields 1 cup sauce. This can be prepared 2 hours before serving.
