    Custard: Milk Custard

    8 cups milk
    2 cups sugar

    Recipe

    Boil the milk; pour it into another saucepan, add the sugar, and allow it to simmer for 2 hours. Stir once in a while. When the mixture begins to thicken, stir more often to prevent the custard from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Although this may seem a bit tedious at fist, the custard will slowly get darker and tastier as it thickens. Makes 2 cups. Good served with fresh fruit or as sweet spread for breads or muffins.
