    Beets: Chinese Beets

    List of Ingredients

    6 cups cooked, sliced beets
    1 1/2 cups reserved liquid from beet cooking
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup vinegar
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    24 cloves
    3 tablespoons ketchup
    3 tablespoons oil (optional)
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 dash salt

    Recipe

    Mix all in saucepan, including beets. Cook for 3 minutes over medium heat or until mixture thickens. Let cool. Store in fridge.
