Corn: Country Fried Corn

6 ears fresh corn (may use frozen cream-style corn)
3 slices of bacon
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste Recipe
If using fresh corn, shuck and remove stalks. Cut corn from cob. Cook bacon in heavy skillet until crisp and remove from drippings. Stir corn into hot drippings. Add water, sugar and butter. Cook over medium heat until mixture begins to thicken. Stir to keep from sticking. Reduce heat and add salt, pepper and crumbled bacon. Makes 6 servings
