    Sweet: 1 pt. Banana Whole Wheat Bread

    1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 Tbsp margarine, melted
    2 very ripe bananas, mashed
    1/4 cup liquid egg substitute
    Cooking spray

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loafpan with cooking spray.
    Combine first 4 ingredients in large bowl. Combine sugar and next 3 ingredients; add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour batter into sprayed loafpan. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pan and let cool completely on wire rack.

    Loaf makes 16 slices. 1 point per slice.


    79 calories, 1.8 gms fat, 1.7 gms fiber

    Variation: Add 1 cup diced dates. Will change point value to 2 points per slice.
