    2 pt. Cinnamon Buns

    1 loaf frozen bread dough
    1/3 cup sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/3 cup natural applesauce with no added sugar
    brown sugar & cinnamon - for sprinkling over top

    Thaw dough. Spray mixing bowl with Pam. Place dough in mixing bowl-grease top & sides with non-fat margarine. Cover with towel. Let rise about 1 hr. or until twice in bulk. Spray two 8" or 9" round baking pans with Pam. Punch down dough & turn out onto lightly floured surface. Cover with towel. Let rest about 10 min.

    Roll out dough into a 12" square. Spread with applesauce to 1/2" of edges. In a small bowl, combine sugar & cinnamon. Sprinkle over applesauce. Roll up dough (like a jelly roll). Moisten edges with water & pinch to seal. With sharp floured knife, cut into 12- 1" slices.

    Sprinkle a little cinnamon & brown sugar on the bottom of each of the pans. Arrange 6 rolls in each pan (ontop of the brown sugar & cinnamon). Cover with towel & let rise for about 30 min. or twice in size.

    Oven-350-375 degrees for approx. 20-25 min. Invert each pan onto serving plate to cool. Makes 12, at 2 pts. each.


    Special Notes: Someone recommended using a piece of fishing line or dental floss to slice through the rolled dough. This makes a clean slice without squishing the dough down.
