1 loaf unsliced italian bread (16-ounce)
1/2 cup bottled traditional pizza sauce
8 slices onion separated into rings (1/8" thick)
1 cup presliced fresh mushrooms
6 ounces ultra-lean ground beef
1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 1/2 cups preshredded pizza double-cheese (a blend of part-skim mozzarella and cheddar cheese) (6 ounces) Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. Cut Italian bread loaf in half horizontally. Place both halves of bread, cut side up, on a large baking sheet. Spread !/4 cup pizza sauce over each half of bread. Divide onion rings and sliced mushrooms evenly between bread halves. Crumble ground beef into !/2" pieces, and divide beef evenly between bread halves. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper evenly over each pizza; top each with 1/4 cup shredded cheese. 2. Bake pizza halves at 500 degrees for 9 minutes or until ground beef is done and cheese melts. Cut each pizza half into 3 equal pieces.
