4 1/2 pounds ground beef, lean
1 1/2 cups onion chopped
2 1/4 cups catsup (no salt added)
3 tablespoons prepared mustard
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce, low sodium
2 tablespoons vinegar
Splenda - equivalent of 2 tbl. sugar
(original recipe called for 1 tablespoon salt )
1 tablespoon pepper Recipe
In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain. Combine catsup, mustard, worcestershire, vinegar, splenda, and pepper; stir into beef mixture. Heat through.
Could also substitute no salt added tomato sauce and paste for part of the catsup and simply simmer recipe down to have it be less liquidy. Original recipe served on buns.. would be good over rice pasta, cooked rice or potatoes
