1 small can tomato sauce -low salt
1 jar salsa or picante (or make homemade, see recipe)Recipe
Take an inexpensive cut of beef and trim the excess fat. Place in the crockpot and cook on low overnight. In the morning, shred the beef with a fork. Then add one small can of tomato sauce and a jar of salsa or picante sauce. Mix well and continue to cook on low for the rest of the day.
Can serve with plan-friendly tortillas (see recipes), or over rice or rice pasta or potatoes, etc.
For another variation, cook the beef in the same manner, but instead of adding the tomato sauce and salsa, add your favorite barbeque sauce
