    1 1/2 pounds extra lean ground beef
    2 onions, minced
    1 green pepper, minced
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 cup no salt added tomato sauce
    2 apples, finely chopped
    (original recipe calls for1/3 cup raisins)
    2 teaspoons dried oregano
    2 teaspoons ground cumin
    1 head romaine lettuce
    1 lime cut into wedges

    In a large nonstick frying pan over medium heat, brown the beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. As soon as the meat begins to lose its pink color, add the onions, peppers and garlic. Cook, stirring often, until beef ahs browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any accumulated fat. Add the tomato sauce, aples (raisins), oregano and cumin. cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Transfer to a large platter. Surround with romaine leaves. To eat, spoon some meat onto a lettuce leaf, squeeze on some lime juice, then roll up the leaf like a tortilla.
