Oats: Good Eats' Steel Cut Oats

List of Ingredients
1 cup steel cut oats
3 cups boiling water
up to 1 cup additional water
1 tablespoon brown sugar or brown sugar twin and/or Splenda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Recipe
Place oats in a 3-4 quart saucepan. Add the boiling water and reduce heat to a simmer. Keep at a low simmer for 25 minutes, without stirring. Stir well and then add in additional water, stirring well. Cook for an additional 10 minutes. Stir in extracts to flavor if desired (vanilla, maple, etc) and use cinnamon, splenda or brown sugar twin to flavor as desired.
